Duke lacrosse team's co-captain indicted
David Evans, the Duke lacrosse team's co-captain, is now the third player indicted in the controversial case.
Evans has been charged with first-degree forcible rape, first-degree sexual offense and first degree kidnapping. Since the defense keeps bringing up the survivor's irrelevant personal history, it seems more than fair to point out that 23-year-old Evans, like his charged teammates, also has a criminal record. Evans has been identified by the accuser in a photo lineup, where she said she believed he was one of her assailants "with 90% certainty." She said she would have been 100% certain if Evans has a mustache, something his attorney claims he has never had.
Evans graduated on Sunday. Today, his mother, Rae Evans, the chairwoman of the Ladies Professional Golf Association board of directors, stood by him. That's great, but somehow, I'm guessing Ms. Evans would have liked a different Mother's Day gift, like, oh, her son not being taken in for violent crimes.

It says a lot when the person indicted has the ability to just stand up on that soap box in his nice pastel shirt and say what he wants to try and sway public opinion...
The news coverage of this is getting worse and worse even on my local news statsions. In every single broadcast, they mention the DNA testing results like they're on CSI Miami. and then when they start to refer to the woman victim as "the female stripper"....
I'd respond to "Betty", but A, she's dead, rest her soul, and B, half of that paragraph is copied from "her" own blog. Get a life.
Yeah, Betty must be a white man! How dare she plagiarize from - her own blog? That's not allowed, huh? Is that written down somewhere, cause I must have missed it.
Laura Bush is probably a white man too, because she dares to refer to herself as a feminist, yet doesn't conduct herself in the way Killer B here has narrowly defined the word.
It's much easier for her to mock you for choosing a moniker of a dead feminist and reposting some info then try to respond to your extensive points.
B, seriously, you might want to tone down the hatred of white men just, like, one or two notches. You do make some good points, and your heart is in the right place, but the good stuff is getting drowned out by the rhetoric. It’s a great time to be a feminist - revel in it! I challenge you to do a post about just a few of the positive things happening today for women.

this person's post doesn't deserve a thorough response, but I will say this: you "betty" conveniently left out the criminal records of the "boys" accused. and then to call them "boys" and the woman victim as "the stripper" says a lot about how you're trying to position this.
Oh, these poor privileged white men. Someday the evil feminists will see how we mistreat them so.

"Betty" has built his/her whole case on the assumption that Nifong is biased.
As I understand the court system, a DA is allowed to be biased in favor of the plaintiff.
We haven't heard from judge or jury yet.
Wait - the NAACP is a racist group? Wow. I thought it was more about racial equality.
This "Betty" really is a piece of work. Lots of nonsense there. The evidence should be carefully examined in a thoughtful way, but I think the evidence will come down on the accuser's side. Plus she seems more believable.
And the thing about hating white men... Can we just get past this? B never said that. A few weak minds made that inference. End of story. People who keep bringing this up are likely white men who are seeing that as time goes by, they have less and less opportunity to succeed because of their status as white men. That scares the heck out of some people because they will soon have to start relying on knowledge, ability and hard work rather than being a white man.
